Every year the Clergy and Staff of Pax Christi hold a Volunteer Appreciation Dnner to thank all of the volunteers who work in various ministries at the parish. Without you, Pax Christi wouldn't be the same. Thank you, Volunteers!
St. Katharine Drexel School Fundraiser (Jan 20, 2018)
On January 26, 2018, St. Katharine Drexel School held it's annual fundraiser and gala. The money raised goes to help support the operation of the school, providing our youth a strong educational start.
On November 18, 2017, The Knights of Columbus held their annual Thanksgiving Basket Collection. Families were encouraged to donate food items, money, or time to prepare and deliver the baskets to those in need.
On November 4, 2017, The Knights of Columbus wives held the first annual All Saints Celebration and silent auction. Families were encouraged to dress as their favorite saint, and a costume contest was held, judged by Fr. Marek. The event was well attended and enjoyed by all.
The Foundation for Douglas County Schools “Strive to Thrive” event hosted by Cherry Hills Community Church was held on August 1st. This event helps families who are struggling have access to resources and school supplies. 39 agencies were present to provide services. Our very own St. Elizabeth’s Pantry, Mobile Food Bank of the Rockies and St. Vincent de Paul participated. The event was a success with 528 residents attending, with approximately 100 visiting Pax Christi’s table. Thank you Jean Henry, Denise Quartararo and Jeanette Robinson for all your efforts to help our community!
Our Lady of Fatima Statue Visit (March 6, 2017)
On March 6, 2017, Pax Christi was visited by the Our Lady of Fatima Statue.
I Could Have Danced All Night (February 24, 2017)
On February 24, 2017, St. Katharine Drexel Catholic School at Pax Christi held it's annual fundraiser. This year the theme was "I Could Have Danced All Night - Masquerade Ball," and the event was held at the Falls Event Center in Littleton. Attendance was good, including Bishop Sheridan, Father Marek Krol, Father Greg Bierbaum, Deacon Thomas Sandusky, and many Parish and Finance Council members, as well as other prominent parishioners. It was a wonderful evening, and our school and children benefited.
On February 16, 2017, the Clergy and Staff at Pax Christi held their annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner in the great hall. The food was catered by Olive Garden, and the entertainment was "Family Feud" among the ministries. Laughter and merriment were abundant among those who attended. The turnout was abundant as well!
Each year the Knights of Columbus coordinate donations from Pax Christi parishioners, and prepare Thanksgiving baskets to help feed those in need at Thanksgiving. This year hundreds of Pax Christi parishioners volunteered donations and/or to help, providing almost 10,000 lbs of food, in 520 baskets, which provided Thanksgiving Dinner for more than 2000 individuals.
