Pax Christi Schola Cantorum
Pax Christi's Schola Cantorum was mentioned in the news. Here's a link to check it out.
Under the direction of Maestro Raymond Ortiz at Pax Christi Church they are developing a children's choir schola cantorum. It's a small effort right now but it's already having tremendous effect on the parish. Ray teaches basic music skills, solfege and even history on the chants and pieces of music that they're learning. For more information, Contact Ray in the office.
Pax Christi will start a living rosary on Sunday, September 17th after the 10:30 a.m. Mass. The Rosary will continue each month on the 3rd Sunday. Each person who joins will be assigned a specific mystery and intention for the following month and will pray one decade of the Rosary every day during that month. When we meet on the 3rd Sunday after the 10:30 Mass, we exchange prayer cards with the mysteries and intentions. You do not have to meet anyone daily, you pray individually any time of the day at your own convenience. While praying and meditating your assigned decade each day of every month, Our Blessed Mother Mary is leading you slowly to Her Son Jesus.
With completion of the 20 months, you will start over from the beginning, which is why it’s called Our Lady’s Living Rosary. Each group of 20 is called a rose. Remember: When it is your turn to pray the First Decade of each Mystery of the Rosary, you will also say the prayers that begin the Rosary: the Apostles Creed, the Our Father, three Hail Marys, a Glory Be, and the Fatima Prayer. When it is your turn to pray the Fifth Decade of each Mystery of the Rosary, you will say the ending prayer: Hail, Holy Queen.
If, however, you forget to pray your decade of the Rosary on a day, please pray it twice the following day. This way you will have completed the Rosary which was not completed the day before. If you have your own intentions, pray the decade again.
