Ministry InformationLiturgicalLiturgical Ministries ACOLYTE Description: Acolytes commit themselves to the responsibility of reflection on the Sunday readings, and help plan and carry out Sunday and special liturgies by assisting our Presider and other liturgical ministers. Time Commitment: 1 monthly meeting, Acolyte 1 weekend/6 weeks, training and updates 2/year. YOUTH ALTAR SERVERS Description: Boys and girls who are in the 5th grade and older may serve in this capacity. Assisting our Presider and other Liturgical ministers on Sundays and Special Liturgies Time Commitment: 1 Mass every 4 weeks. BAPTISMAL GARMENTS Description: To make garments from a pattern and materials provided for you in your own home at your convenience and to embroider names on the garments. Time Commitment: 2-3 hours three times/year. BAPTISMAL KEEPSAKES Mission: To make keepsakes for the families of our newly baptized children Description: To take home kits to make the keepsakes as needed. All instructions are Description: Communion Ministers have the privilege to offer communion to those who gather to celebrate liturgy. Training is provided to familiarize new ministers with all aspects of this ministry and to update current ministers with changes in procedures. Time Commitment: 3 hours Liturgical ministry session once a year; 1 hour procedural training initially, serving twice monthly. Description: By proclaiming the Scriptures, voice is given to God’s Word, which makes the Divine presence alive and active in our midst. Training and support is provided for those who join this ministry. Children in third grade and older, youth and adults are encouraged to be part of this ministry! Time Commitment: Monthly. LITURGY COMMITTEE Description: This Committee meets monthly to plan liturgies, coordinate the work of weekend Eucharist celebrations, and evaluate various aspects of parish liturgies. Within a context of prayer the Committee takes time to study liturgical principles from the tradition of the Church and is committed to reflection on liturgical issues currently being discussed. Time Commitment: Monthly. LITURGICAL ENVIRONMENT Description: The tasks of this ministry include monthly upkeep of our worship necessities, seasonal support for liturgical celebrations and special projects including sewing and painting. Time Commitment: Varies annually with seasonal needs. MUSIC MINISTRY (Adult and Child) Description: The gifts desired for this ministry are vocalists who can match pitch and follow direction and instrumentalists who are proficient on their instrument. Time Commitment: 1-2 hours a week for rehearsal, depending on the time of year, plus time at SOUND SYSTEM OPERATORS Description: These members help set up for and monitor sound during various events. Time Commitment: 2-6 hours/month. USHER Description: The ushers of Pax Christi are available to assist at all liturgical functions by greeting people, preparing bulletins for distribution, guiding parishioners to communion and helping with collections. A great opportunity for families – a great way to teach your children the importance of stewardship by participation! Time Commitment: 3 hours of training initially and then twice monthly. Description: Families/individuals are asked to purchase a box of wine that will be used for weekday and weekend Masses. Time Commitment: Once a year.
