LECTOR
Mission of Ministry: To proclaim the Scripture readings at weekend, weekday and special liturgies.
Description: By proclaiming the Scriptures, voice is given to God’s Word, which makes the Divine presence alive and active in our midst. Training and support is provided for those who join this ministry. Children in third grade and older, youth and adults are encouraged to be part of this ministry!
Time Commitment: Monthly meeting, time as needed at home to prepare/practice assigned readings.
LITURGY COMMITTEE
Mission of Ministry: To advise our Pastor and to assist in the planning and coordinating of all liturgies.
Description: This Committee meets monthly to plan liturgies, coordinate the work of weekend Eucharist celebrations, and evaluate various aspects of parish liturgies. Within a context of prayer the Committee takes time to study liturgical principles from the tradition of the Church and is committed to reflection on liturgical issues currently being discussed.
Time Commitment: Monthly 2 hour meeting.
LITURGICAL ENVIRONMENT
Mission of Ministry: To create an aesthetic context for the celebration of liturgy by using visuals, scents, sounds, and arrangement of space.
Description: The tasks of this ministry include monthly upkeep of our worship necessities, seasonal support for liturgical celebrations and special projects including sewing and painting.
Time Commitment: Varies annually but typically need 3 to 4 days (weekend when possible or maybe work done at home as well) designing, making and installing textiles and arranging spaces for each liturgical season. 2 hour meetings as scheduled.
MUSIC MINISTRY (Adult and Child)
Mission of Ministry: To accompany the assembly in prayerful song.
Description: The gifts desired for this ministry are vocalists who can match pitch and follow direction and instrumentalists who are proficient on their instrument. Must be willing to attend practice as scheduled and arrive 20 minutes before scheduled mass to warm-up/practice.
Time Commitment: 1-2 hours a week for rehearsal, with extra practices being scheduled during prep for Triduum, Easter, Advent and Christmas. 1.5 hour per regular Mass as you select to serve.
SOUND SYSTEM OPERATORS
Mission of Ministry: To provide sound board support to musicians, other liturgical ministers & volunteers.
Description: These members help set up for and monitor sound during various events.
Time Commitment: 2-6 hours a month as scheduled.
USHER
Mission of Ministry: To provide welcoming and gracious hospitality at our liturgies; to assist with the setup of our liturgical environment, as needed.
Description: The ushers of Pax Christi are available to assist at all liturgical functions by greeting people, preparing bulletins for distribution, guiding parishioners to communion and helping with collections. A great opportunity for families – a great way to teach your children the importance of stewardship by participation!
Time Commitment: 3 hours of training initially and then 1.5 hours twice a month (service at Mass).
